Zircon brick is a kind of refractory material with zircon as the main component, which has high refractory temperature and good chemical stability. Zircon belongs to the tetragonal crystal system, is short and small columnar, with metallic or glassy luster, generally brown, light gray or red. In addition, zircon is insoluble in acid and alkali, non-magnetic or weakly magnetic, weak electrical conductivity.
Zircon bricks are widely used in the field of refractories, and can be used to make zircon bricks for glass kilns, zircon bricks for steel drums, pounding materials and castables. Due to its excellent thermal shock resistance and acid resistance, zircon brick is also widely used in ceramics, enameling and metal smelting.
The preparation method of zircon bricks includes ore dressing, raw material preparation, molding, firing and other processes. In the beneficiation process, it is necessary to use a combination of heavy, magnetic, flotation and electric methods to separate zircon from other minerals. Zircon bricks have high compressive and compressive strength, which can reach more than 300MPa, as well as good refractory temperature and thermal shock stability.
